TAKE-DOWN LEVER ACTIONS AND CUSTOM CHAMBERINGS
We are doing doing take-downs on the traditional .50 Alaskan on '95 Marlins. We will completely rebuild the 1895 including the action, and using some new tooling, will increase chamber dimensions to handle this fine cartridge. We will also install a new barrel with 1/20 twist and you will have your choice of finishes and new sights included. Traditionally the 1895 Marlins have a strong action but we feel some of the newer wildcat cartridges create more chamber pressures than the .50 Alaskan and are not good choices for the Marlins. The .50 Alaskan is the best choice for safety and efficiency.
We are also offering Take-down Lever Actions on the Marlins 336's.
The best guns to build on are the J.M. marked Marlins and the new Rugers.

Traditional Take-downs on your 336 or '95 Marlins
We have found a better way to improve the locking systems on our take-downs. It is much more positive, especially on the heavy hitters like the .45-.70 and .50 calibers. Traditionally, I employed a locking screw which worked well but with the new system, it is a simple push-button which is fast, easy and more positive. Also, on the Marlins, we can re-barrel in calibers like the .375 Winchester and some other cartridges.
Ruger firearms have bought out Remington who had been making the Marlin Rifles. Rest assured, Ruger will build fine guns unlike the Remington manufactured ones.
Take-downs built on your Marlin .336 or 1895's will cost $1650. That will include your choice of colors with our bake on Gun-Kote finishes. Any other add ons are extra such as over sized levers or custom sights. For ideas on pricing on lever action upgrades, see our Lever Action Upgrades page.
